Wheat...West coast wheat markets showed cash prices holding in-line
with week-ago levels following the WASDE report this morning. Soft white
wheat bids are holding the $6 mark and some relative strength to Chicago
as basis has strengthened nearly a dime last week on recent demand. The
USDA updates raised overall U.S. wheat carryout 5 million bushels, with
white wheat accounting for 1 million of that increase.
Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a marked improvement in
the pace of U.S. wheat shipments, coming in at 21.3 million bushels to
put the year-to-date total at 636 million, which is 18% ahead of a year
ago. Hard red spring moved 7.9 million bushels, white wheat registered
7.1 million and hard red winter loaded out 4.5 million. Activity on the
west coast showed exporters moving a total of nearly 12 million bushels
of wheat, with over half of that going to The Philippines, along with
nearly 10 million bushels of corn and 7.5 million bushels of soybeans.
